Creating a Private Network

Top  Previous  Next

Another unique feature!

Did you know that it's possible to create your own private network within the Medical Outlook SPIN network?

Well, you can and here's how you do it.

1.Register with HermeTech, download and install Medical Outlook
2.Activate your company and choose a membership level which includes enough user licenses for everyone at your company that you want to participate in your network.  Your membership level determines how many user licenses you have.
3.When you set up your users check the 'Internal Use Only' box for each active user account.
4.That's it, you're done.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:

What exactly does this do?

A:

If all of a member companies active user accounts are flagged 'Internal Use Only' it will effectively render that company INVISIBLE in the SPIN World Wide Web Address book (see member contacts) EXCEPT to other members of their own company.

Q:

Why would anyone want to do this?

A:

That's up to you.  But we have scenarios where a company wishes to use Medical Outlook as an internal secure mail facility only within their own organization and have no interest in communicating with other member companies.  Another scenario might be (and this is used quite frequently with service organizations like labs etc) that you want your company to present a "Public" face to the world and keep a "Private" face for internal only communications.  A lab for instance might want to keep 1 or 2 "Public" users so that members can send lab orders to them, and they in turn distribute those lab orders as they come in to various technicians or departments whose user accounts are marked "Internal Use Only" thus keeping outside members from sending a Lab Order directly to a technician.
